At the Athena Film Festival, film producer JJ Abrams will be honored with Leading Man Award. According to the leading daily reports, Aishmash's 'Elias' and the new 'Star Wars' trilogy of the Disney Ridley in the 2018 season with the introduction of the role of the world, it will be remembered to 'support and advocate women continuously in extraordinary careers and entertainment world'.

Abrams said, I take the honor of Athena Filmotsav very politely. I have been able to achieve this because I worked with women and I am grateful to all those people for being honored with this honor.

“Abrams has been championing women in the industry throughout his entire career, and through his leadership has continued to push the gender equality conversation,” Athena co-founder Melissa Silverstein said in a statement.

Co-founder Kathryn Kolbert added, “At this time, it is particularly important for us to recognize men who are standing strong with women and joining our call for gender equality. He is a true ally and we are incredibly proud to have him on our side.”

Abrams, meanwhile, said, “I am deeply humbled to be recognized by the Athena Film Festival. Any good I’ve done has been achieved because I have worked alongside women, and I share my gratitude with all of them for being honored with this award."

Before that, in 2016, the award for the Athena Leading Man Award was awarded to filmmaker Paul Fag and in 2017 the award was given to actor David Olivo. Athena Film Festival of 2018 will be held in Barnard College, New York City from February 22 to 25.
