New Delhi: The mortal remains of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee are being taken to Smriti Sthal for the funeral. PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, Union home minister  RajnathSingh also take part in the funeral procession of the 10th prime minister of India. The distance is around 4 kilometers.

The 93-year-old BJP veteran took his last breath to met with his angles at 5:05 pm on Thursday at All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Vajpayee ji was admitted to AIIMS on June 11 with severe problems of Urinary Tract Infection, low urine output, and chest congestion. He was on life support since Wednesday morning after his condition worsoned.

Vajpayee ji led the National Democratic Alliance government from 1998 to 2004. He was the first-ever member of the saffron party BJP to become India's Prime Minister. The Central and all state governments have declared a seven-day holiday following the state morning on demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee . (NT)
