Luxurious life continues for Lalu Prasad in jail: Fooder scam

Jailed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Lalu Prasad Yadav is having a ball in Hotwar jail, where he was sent after being convicted in two of the six fodder scam cases.Reports show that Yadav's kingship continues to stay intact as he does not seem to serve as a prisoner.

In the upper-class jail, he will be provided to use one mosquito net, one newspaper to read every day, and a TV set apart from the usual cell bed. Sources said that he can have access to home-cooked food in the jail and also prepare food for himself. The former railway minister had undergone a heart surgery in 2014 and has several restrictions in his diet.The Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former Bihar chief minister will get Dignitary treatment in behind the bars. Other jail inmates will not be allowed to meet him during his stint here, jail officials said.

RJD Lalu Prasad Yadav leaders, consider state party president and former minister Annapurna Devi attended Lalu Prasad in separate vehicles up to the jail’s main gate in Hotwar.Lalu Prasad, who was condemned earlier in the day by a CBI court for deceitful withdrawal of Rs.89 lakh from Deoghar treasury, immediately went to his cell to take rest.

In 2013, Lalu Prasad state party president and former minister who is the President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, former Chief Minister of Bihar, had to spend 77 days in the same cell until he got bail from the Supreme Court.

“He chooses eating jail food when inside. We, however, try and supply home-cooked food to him,” said by Annapurna Devi.Major rule violations were reported the last time Lalu was lodged in the jail.
