Telangana: As per the Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy, the State Government proposes to build two huge towers as an extension of the MGM Hospital to strengthen it.

The plan is to shift the existing Central Prison behind Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) to city outskirts in Mamnoor.

35 acres of land would be given to MGM Hospital to provide more advanced facilities from the total of 70 acres of prime land. The rest 35 acres would be allocated to the proposed Kaloji Health University.

The KMC premises were inspected by the Health Minister along with Health University Vice-Chancellor Karunakar Reddy, District Medical & Health Officer Sambasiva Rao with others. They also studied the plan for proposed university buildings here on Wednesday.

The existing area hospitals, sub centres and PHCs would be integrated to leverage budget equipment. They would be brought under one teaching hospital for better coordination.

"Entire Health Department would be restructured soon to streamline various wings within the department. The MGM Hospital would be converted into a model hospital and an excellent teaching hospital", said Minister.
