Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], October 25: November 8, the first anniversary of demonetization, would be observed as a 'Black Day’ by Trinamool Congress across the state said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday.

Last year, on November 8 Prime Minister Narendra Modi scraped high valued notes Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 overnight in a shocking move with intention of curbing 'black money'.

Mamata Banerjee said TMC will perform rallies across the state to mark November 8 as a ' Black Day'.

"TMC will observe November 8 as 'Black Day' and conduct rallies all over the state carrying black flags," Mamta quoted, during addressing at an extended core committee meeting of Trinamool Congress in Kolkata.

Yesterday, all Opposition parties along with Congress had taken decision to observe the November 8 as ''black day'.

Starting to November 8, until next three days, central trade unions have intended to protest against the Centre's economic policies and its crashed impact on both organized and unorganized workers.

After announcing two high-valued currency notes Rs. 500 and Rs.2000 as non-legal tender, the government has launched new Rs.200, Rs. 500 and Rs.2000 notes.
