NEW DELHI: A day after her appearance in the national capital, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will on Tuesday meet a number of Opposition leaders including Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi to talk about ways to take on the Narendra Modi-led government inside and outside Parliament.

"Delhi is a part of India and I visit the capital whenever Parliament is in session. Tomorrow there will be a meeting in the central hall, then we will talk," Mamata had stated.

The Trinamool Congress chief is also likely to meet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

During her meeting with Pawar, CM Banerjee is likely to thrash out the current political situation. Pawar had convened a meeting of opposition parties in January this year.

In political corridors, there have been suggestions that the opposition parties should put up common candidates against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance to overthrow Saffron wings in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The Trinamool leader is also likely to visit Parliament House and meet "her old colleagues, party MPs and leaders of other political parties", a senior Trinamool leader had said on Monday.

CM Banerjee is seen as a key competitor in the possible alliance of non-BJP political parties ahead of the next Lok Sabha polls.
