PM Modi reached Manipur's Imphal. He will be addressing the 105th session of the Indian Science Congress at Manipur University shortly, along with inaugurating several projects. Governor Najma Heptulla & CM N.Biren Singh were present to receive PM Modi at the airport.

PM Modi addressed at the inauguration of the 105th Indian Science Congress at Manipur University.

“The time is ripe to redefine ‘R&D’ as ‘Research’ for the ‘Development’ of the nation. Science is after all, but a means to a far greater end; of making a difference in the lives of others, of furthering human progress and welfare “, said PM Modi

 PM  Modi paid  tribute to Stephen Hawking at the 105th Indian Science Congress and said, “He was a friend of India and will be remembered as one of world's greatest motivators”.

“I am told that this is just the second time in over a century, that the Indian Science Congress is being held in the North-East. This is a testimony to the resurgent spirit of the North East. It bodes well for the future, “PM added.

PM Modi’s Manipur tour showered several developmental gifts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of various projects including National Sports University and inaugurated many other projects at the Luwangsangbam Multi Sports Complex in Imphal on Friday.
