Chief minister Manohar Parrikar reached the Goa State Assembly on Thursday to present the budget. He had been hospitialised since February 14 after he suffered from mild pancreatitis. Soon after he was discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, Parrikar reached Goa to present the budget.

The budget session started on February 19 and will be concluded after Parrikar presents the budget and addresses the assembly. It is speculated that Parrikar will also speak to the media after his address in the assembly as this is the first time he has come out since he was admitted to the hospital after he complained of food poisoning on February 15.

Deputy speaker Michael Lobo interacted with reporters in Panji and told about Parrikar’s arrival.

“Manohar Parrikar is back in Goa. It is good to hear about his discharge from the hospital,” said Lobo to media. “Manohar Parrikar has strong willpower that has helped him recover and he will present the budget if he thinks he should do so,” he added.

Parrikar, who is 62 years old, has been advised to take care of his health. Parrikar is also set to hold a cabinet meeting before returning to Mumbai for further treatment.
