Mumbai: The Maratha group's 'Maratha Samaj' has called 'Bandh' in whole Maharashtra on Thursday except Navi Mumbai. A leader of the organization said that it would be a peaceful demonstration from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Amol Jadhavrao, leader of the Maratha community, said, "This protest will be peaceful in which Navi Mumbai will not be included. All necessary services, schools and colleges have been kept aside from the bandh."

"We have decided not to stop Navi Mumbai due to some sensitive issues," he said. Violence took place in parts of Maharashtra, especially in Koparkhairane and Kalamboli in Navi Mumbai during the Maratha Reservation movement last month. Jadhavrao said, "There will be peaceful demonstrations from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.. I appeal to Maratha youth not to commit chaos. chao will not help the community and its interests."

Earlier, many people in the community had committed suicide in support of reservation demand. He assured, "We appeal to Maratha youths that they should stay away from violence. We will not perform aggressively and will not harm public property. " Jadhavrao alleged that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is only talking to some Maratha people and trying to create confusion within the community. They said, 'Fadnavis is trying to weaken the intensity of movement.'
