The moment when the news broke that RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's son is getting married to Aishwarya Rai, everything broke loose. Well, Aishwarya Rai is the daughter of an RJD leader. People took it as the Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The bride-to-be hails from Chhapra in Bihar and is all set to take seven vows with Yadav's eldest son, Tej Pratap Yadav, in May. Aishwarya Rai is the granddaughter of Bihar’s former chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai and the daughter of state’s former transport minister Chandrika Rai.

According to a report in Hindustan, there was a light drizzle on the day Aishwarya was born, she has been nicknamed 'Jhipsi'. She is the eldest of her siblings. Her younger sister Ayushi Rai is an engineer and brother Apurva Rai is a law student. She completed her schooling from Notre Dame Academy in Patna. She finished her further education from Delhi and received an MBA from Amity University, Noida. The engagement ceremony of Aishwarya and Tej Pratap will take place at Hotel Maurya on April 18. The wedding will be solemnized at Bihar Veterinary College compound in Patna on May 12.

Sources say that Aishwarya was chosen by Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi. The former Bihar chief minister had finalized the marriage of Tej Pratap. The marriage talks were finalized in the middle of the month when she met the girl’s parents at their residence in Patna. The report says that Rabri Devi consulted Chandrika Rai and his wife, and took a decision on the dates for the engagement ceremony and wedding.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife, former chief minister Rabri Devi, had been hunting for a “homely, accomplished daughter-in-law” for their son Tej Pratap, Bihar's former Health and Forests Minister. Lalu and Rabri had last year even announced that they would not demand any dowry.
