Maruti Suzuki ranks first in passenger vehicles sales, Tata Motors takes a leap

Tata Motors is is near Mahindra and Mahindra in the race to become the country's third largest passenger vehicle company. In the passenger vehicle segment, in the period from April to August, Tata Motors is just 1,313 units from Mahindra and Mahindra, following the latest figures of automobile manufacturers Siam. 

During the period under review, Mahindra & Mahindra sold 1,00,015 units, while Tata Motors has sold 98,702 units on the basis of the compact SUV Nexus and Hatchback Tiago. In this wa,y these two companies ranked third and fourth respectively. 

Mahindra & Mahindra's sales were 90,614 units in the same period a year ago and it was 26,483 units ahead of Tata Motors. At the same time, Tata Motors was at fifth position with a record of 64,131 units. During the April-August period of the current financial year, Maruti Suzuki stood first with 7,57,289 units and Hyundai Motor stood second with 2,26,396 units. 

Significantly, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) reported a 36.3 per cent increase in sales in June this year to 1,44,981 units compared to the same period last year. The company's sales last year was 1,06,394 units. MSI said in a statement that the domestic sales of the company jumped 45.5% from the sale of 93,263 cars in June last year to 1,35,662 cars in the same period this year.

 

Sales of small cars like Alto and Wagon R, the company saw an increase of 15.1 per cent. After this, the sales of 25,524 small cars in June last year increased by 29,381 units in June this year.   

Talking about Tata Motors' domestic sales of 54 per cent in sales of the company's cars in June, Tata Motors has registered a growth of 54 per cent in its domestic sales. Sales of the company reached 56,773 units in June. Tata Motors said in the BSE regulator that 36,836 cars were sold in the domestic market in the same period last year. 

The company also said that in the April-June quarter of the financial year 2019, the company recorded sales of 164,579 cars in its domestic sales, up 64 per cent compared to the sale of 100,141 units in the same period last year. That is, through the sale of monthly and monthly sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market.
