NEW DELHI: India boxer MC Mary Kom scripted a new history to her storied career by winning gold in women's 45-48 kg category at the 10 th day of Commonwealth Games, 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia.

She beat Kristina O'Hara who hails from Northern Ireland 5-0 via unanimous decision to claim the golden metal. Worth mentioning here Mary Kom is the five-time world champion.

In CWG 2018 she won 30-27, 30-27, 29-28, 30-27, 20-27 to land the decision in her favour.

 One of the greatest comebacks in Indian sports of Mary Kom occurred when she claimed her fifth Asian Championships Gold in Vietnam in November.

In Rio Olympics, she had put the disappointment of not qualifying but 3 months later, Mary proved that her latest return to the ring wasn't a stroke of luck when she won another gold medal in the introductory of India Open boxing championship.

Four years ago in CWG 2014, she could not qualify for the event following a loss to Pinki Jangra during trials but this year, she has left that discontent far-off.
