A 29-year-old Akshaya Shanmugam, who hails from Chennai has marked her name into the 'Forbes 30 under 30' list in the field of healthcare, report comes from the 'The Times of India'.  Akshaya Shanmugam, who works as the  CEO of Lumme Inc, has been named in the list for developing a  software that can help smokers quit and even predict a relapse.  Shanmugam, who moved to the US in 2009 for her higher studies, told the technology is in the process of being clinically validated. She holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in Anna University, Chennai and a Master’s degree and PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. "It is quite an honour to be part of this list. It is a validation that there is potential in the technology that we have developed. This only drives us further to make meaningful contributions to the field of healthcare," said Shanmugam. Her venture, Lumme, is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has raised USD 1.7 million.
