Mice attacked SBI ATM, enjoyed feast of  Rs.12,38,000 currency notes

The colony of mice attacked a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM in Assam’s Tinsukia district and torn down currency notes worth Rs 12 lakh.

The ATM had been put down the lid due to technical failure since May 20. But behind the shut ATM, the mice enjoyed feast of 12 lakh rupees currency notes.

The SBI ATM, reportedly in Laipuli area was closed since 20 May, because of technical errors.

On June 11, when technicians went the ATM to fix the machine, they were stunned to see Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 currency notes into pieces.

As per the sources of SBI officials, notes worth Rs 12,38,000 are considered to have been totally vanished. On a related note A Guwahati-based financial company, FIS: Global Business Solutions runs the ATM. According to reports The company had deposited Rs 29 lakhs into the ATM on May 19.

A bank official asserted to a local news channel that around Rs 17 lakh were saved from the butchery of mice.

A police complaint is lodged with the local police station in Tinusukia.
