Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi government over delaying winter session of the Parliament.

Gandhi said, "Generally, every year Parliament session is apprehended in November and the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha sit for one month to talk about issues. But, this year the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will set up after Gujarat Polls."

The Modi government on Friday suggested that the winter session of Parliament be held from December 15 to January 5, with 14 sittings of both Houses during the 21-day session. The Congress has been attacking the government for postponing the winters session due to Gujarat Assembly Polls.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday launched the scathing attack on Prime Minister Modi over the winter session.

Speaking the Congress Working Committee meeting, Rahul Gandhi said, "Modi government in superciliousness has cast the dark shadow on India's Parliamentary democracy by interfering with Winter Session on feeble grounds. The government is misguided if it thinks by locking temple of democracy; it'll run off constitutional responsibility ahead of Polls."

The 14th Gujarat Legislative Assembly election, 2017 is programmed to be apprehended on December 9, 2017 and December 14, 2017.
