Bhopal: Cricketer turned politician Punjab Minister and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu slammed PM Narendra Modi asserting that the 2014 'Modi wave' now is turning out to be 'Modi poison' for the people of the nation.

Sidhu at present has been extensively campaigning in the state of Madhya Pradesh ahead of polls. He will reach Indore later today. In the several rallies he has held in the poll-bound state so far, he has reinstated that the PM Modi led government's work in the last four and a half years has caused the great mess for the general people.

In addition, Sidhu also attacked at the BJP for slamming him for hugging the Pakistan Army Chief during the swearing-in ceremony of Pakistan PM Imran Khan. "At least that hug became 'amrit' for 15-16 crore people. At least it was not the Rafale deal," Sidhu defended himself referring to the Kartarpur Corridor.

This came after Sidhu's crack at PM Narendra Modi claiming that he is a "puppet of capitalists". "The prime minister is a 'katputli' of capitalists and he lies. If a farmer fails to repay a loan of Rs one lakh, the government beats drums," he dubbed on Tuesday.
