Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the chief ministers from the different states of India and restated that the Government Council of NITI Aayog has the power to bring about a revolution or a "historic change". Prioritizing the flood prone states of Tripura, Assam, Mizoram and Manipur, the Prime Minister assured them that they would be completely backed by the central government and also that they shall be aided with every requirement to deal with the flood. The 4 states have been badly affected by flood in the previous day's. During the day-long meeting, which included the Union Ministers, the Chief Ministers from all the States, the Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories and senior officials from the Government of India, Prime Minister Modi asserted that the Council has been looking into the various complex issues of governance as a team, 'Team India', by cooperating. He discussed the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as an example of competitive federalism. He affirmed that Chief Ministers of of all the States across India have played a crucial role in executing policies on various issues such as Swachh Bharat Mission, Digital Transactions, and Skill Development through certain sub groups. The Prime Minister also appreciated that the recommendations of such sub-groups have been implemented by the various Ministries of the Union government. Narendra Modi shared his vision of a New India by the year 2022. Referring to the same, he discussed the issues on the agenda today, including doubling of the farmer's income, Ayushman Bharat, Mission Indradhanush, Nutrition Mission and celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi informed that 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centres are being constructed under the Ayushman Bharat and 10 crore families shall be provided with a health assurance worth Rs 5 lakh every year.
