Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the draft of development of Modi government is not for a deal of vote and by obstructing the passage of the Triple Talaq legislation, the Congress party is repeating the same mistake that they did in the Shah Bano case in 1985. Union Affairs Minister Naqvi said in a special dialogue with Triple Talaq that is a bad practice and it is not right to see it religiously and politically.

He said that Triple Talaq legislation has been initiated to provide social justice to Muslim women and to strengthen constitutional rights. But the Congress party and some of its colleagues are defying the bill and are trying to oppose this bill from the very beginning. He alleged that the party of the Congress party had been kneeling in front of some fundamentalist vested interests.

Naqvi on Opposition objections said that misuse of anything, nobody can do anything. Section 302 can also be misused. It is notable that the Triple Talaq legislation was passed in the Lok Sabha in the budget session but this was not passed in the Rajya Sabha. The government has recently amended this bill, under which in the proposed law related to the Triple Talaq Muslims, certain protection provisions like bail were included before the hearing of the accused.

The proposed law will remain 'illegitimate' but the accused may plead with the magistrate even before hearing for bail. Under the unlawful act, bail cannot be given by the police in the police station. However, the revised draft of the bill did not appear in the Rajya Sabha in the monsoon session. Asked if AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has linked the initiative of the government to amend the SC, ST Torture Prevention Act to 'Shah Bano Case', Naqvi said, 'Modi government's aim is maximum development, not the maximum votes.'

He said that our effort is the empowerment of the Dalit and backward society, the weaker section, which needs growth and development even after seven decades of independence. Minority affairs minister said that the move to bring amendment bill to the court's decision in the SC, ST case is absolutely correct and it reflects the commitment of the Modi government towards social justice. Naqvi said, "In our government's development program, the highest priority is with the poor, the weak and the backward classes on the people who have not reached the point of development."
