Mulk Movie review: It appeals Terrorism is a criminal movement, not a religious one

Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu starrer and Directorial of Anubhav Sinha Mulk released today alongside Fanney Khan and Karwaan .

The movie tells the story of a Muslim family who is trying to reclaim its lost respect and honor facing the allegation of terrorism. Mulk also includes the star cast Prateik Babbar, Rajat Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana and Neena Gupta among others.

The story line of Mulk revolves around a Muslim joint family. The family based in a Hindu-dominated locality of Varanasi. The head of the family Murad Ali Mohammed (Rishi Kapoor), is a well known lawyer and commands respect of his neighbors who cross all limits across religions and professions.

Murad Ali’s family faces more troubles and their life takes an ugly turn when the family member Shahid (Prateik Babbar) who is the nephew of Ali is declared a terrorist and killed in an encounter by Anti-Terrorist team official Danish Javed  whose character is played by Rajat Kapoor.

 The story becomes interesting when Shahid's father and Murad's younger brother Bilal (Manoj Pahwa) get detained on charges of being a partner in crime in his son's illegal activities.

 

On the start of law suit Murad Ali represents his brother in the court before he is also hauled into the case as an accused by the prosecution lawyer whose role is played by Ashutosh Rana.

Aarti Mohammed (Taapsee Pannu) who is Murad's Hindu daughter-in-law then takes charge of the law suit and pledges to get justice for her family.

The first half dedicates to a family drama while the second is populated by extreme courtroom scenes. a  Mulk is parallel  to Anirudha Roy Choudhary's 2016 legal drama Pink star by Amitabh Bacchan and Tapsi Pannu.

Pink was dedicated for feminism but Mulk is based on victim family of terrorism.

The whole movie is based that how Taapsee takes on the advocate gown and vows to prove Terrorism is a criminal movement, not a religious one.

At last Mulk is an eye-opener for those who wish to see the world uncontaminated.
