Under the strategic preparations for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress President Rahul Gandhi today met liberal Muslim intellectuals. According to information from sources, these Muslim intellectuals advised Rahul Gandhi that the Congress wandered from its fundamentals, due to which the Muslim community went away from the Congress. So, Congress needs to return to the principles of the 60-70s.

In this meeting with Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Muslim intellectuals advised that the party should talk of the poverty but not the community because when Congress speaks of community, opponents get an opportunity to raise a question. These intellectuals have to say to the Congress president that only four percent of Muslims in the Congress have a bearded hat who raise sensational issues like Halala and triple talaq. But 96 percent of Muslims have the same issues which are issues of the rest of the country like poverty, unemployment, and education. After that Rahul Gandhi also admitted that the Congress has been mistaken.

Significantly, taking lessons from the defeat of 2014, Congress wants to stop the polarization of Hindu-Muslim votes in the upcoming elections. For this, Rahul Gandhi has chosen those faces to join the Muslims, who are considered not to be radical but moderate and scholar.
