Basti, Uttar Pradesh: Rescue operation is still underway at the site where lintel of a flyover on National Highway 28 collapsed in Basti , Uttar Pradesh  earlier this morning. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the local administration for an immediate rescue operation and to resume the traffic.

According to the leading news agency ANI Lintel of a flyover on National Highway 28 collapsed in Basti earlier this morning in which 4 people injured, 2 people trapped under the debris.

The flyover was under-construction on a national highway at Uttar Pradesh's Basti . All injured laborers who were working at the site are being treated at a local hospital.

According to the NDTV Eyewitnesses said the iron beams supporting the flyover appear to have sunk into the ground, leading to the collapse of Flyover. On a related note it has been raining in the area for the last two weeks.

The under-construction flyover on National Highway 28 is some 205 km from Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, news agency ANI reported. More details are awaited.

Worth mention here Last week, a portion of a service road on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway caved in after heavy rain. A car with four people swallowed in debris. There were no casualties reported.
