Nepal Police arrests 28 Indians for their alleged involvement in grey market

Kathmandu (Nepal), August 1, (NT): The Nepal Police have detained 28 Indians for their alleged involvement in grey market, from a guest house in Tulsipur in Dang district.

The police received an input as they tracked the Indians for a week before busting the racket and arresting them.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of Regional Police Office, Tulsipur, Prakash Sapkota told ANI that they have arrested 28 Indian citizens from the Munal Pahuna Ghar (guest house) in Tulsipur, the headquarters of Dang district. He added that his team had tracked them for over a week and found them involved in the grey business after receiving information.

The police also noted that dozens of mobile phones and gas stoves were found from them. Sapkota also said that his team also recovered that they were largely involved in trafficking materials from India without paying duty taxes.

Worth mention here the leader of the group was identified as Nanke Sharma of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh according to the reports of ANI. The police informed that the process to bring the all accused to the court has been started.

It is noted that Five Indian nationals were on Wednesday arrested for smuggling of over 3 kg of gold, worth whopping Rs 14.7 million, at the international airport. (NT)
