New Delhi: PM Modi and French President hold bilateral talks in Hyderabad House

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron are holding bilateral talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.

  Earlier EMA Sushma Swaraj met President Emmanuel Macron and hold delegation level talks to forge the strategic partnership in trade & investment.

EMA talking head Ravessh Kumar said, “A strategic partnership since 1998! EAM @Sush maSwaraj called on President of France @EmmanuelMacron and exchanged views on further enhancing our strategic partnership in trade & investment, defence & security, culture, education and people-to-people ties,” he tweeted.

“Another chapter in the glorious book of our friendship! PM @narendramodi welcomes President of France, @EmmanuelMacron at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi ahead of the bilateral talks,” Raveesh Kumar said in another tweet.

 Early in the morning  Visiting French President Emmanuel Macron accorded the ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan, He also inspected the guard of honor.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the press meet at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

“I think we have very good chemistry, our two great democracies have a historic relationship” said French President Emmanuel Macron

During the talks both the leaders are likely to review the progress achieved in bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

A number of Key agreements are expected to be inked in various areas.

In the morning, the visiting leader will be accorded Ceremonial Reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The visiting leader will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind and Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj.

Macron arrived in New Delhi on Friday night on a four-day visit to India. He was warmaly received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport.

In a Press meet in New Delhi on Friday, Joint Secretary in the MEA K Nagaraj Naidu said that India has a very deep engagement with France in several areas including space.

 He added issues of maritime security and terrorism will be discussed during the visit of French President.

French President’s India -visit aims at strengthening the bilateral economic, political and strategic dimension of engagement between the two countries.
