“New India” is rising: PM Modi at AIIB’s annual meet

Today PM Narendra Modi arrived in Mumbai to attend the annual meeting of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and addressed his party workers.

In his address PM Modi said a “New India” is rising, he added Now India stands on the pillars of economic opportunity for all, knowledge economy, holistic development, and futuristic, resilient and digital infrastructure.

Lauding his Govt initiatives PM Modi said  BJP led regime firmly committed to the path of fiscal consolidation.  He informed that Government debt as percentage of GDP is again and again declining. India has achieved a rating upgrade after a long time.

 He continued as saying, “India is one of the most investor-friendly economies. Investors look for growth and macro-economic stability. They want political stability & a supportive regulatory framework to ensure protection of their investment”.

India and AIIB are both committed to make economic growth more inclusive and sustainable. In India, we are applying novel Public Private Partnership (PPP) models, Infrastructure Debt Funds and Infrastructure Investment Trusts.

 He concluded as saying from the perspective of larger scale of operations and higher value addition, an investor is also attracted by a large domestic market size, availability of skilled labour and good physical infrastructure. On each of these parameters India is well placed and has performed very well.
