Nirav Modi, accused of PNB scam, may be arrested in London anytime. ED has sent necessary documents to the UK administration for the arrest and the London administration has confirmed it.
Recently, the UK had confirmed to the CBI that diamond trader Neerav Modi, accused of the PNB scam, is in London only. Officials had said that the CBI has sent an extradition request to the Home Ministry as soon as it is confirmed. Request to bring back Nirav Modi will now be sent to the UK through the Ministry of External Affairs.

Officials had said that the CBI had requested the UK officials to take Neerav Modi to custody in connection with the Red Corner Notice issued by Interpol against him. In June this year, the Red Corner Notice was issued on the request of the CBI.

Interpol tells its 192 members of countries discussed issuing a Red Corner notice against a fugitive that they should be arrested or detained on his appearance here. After this, extradition or deportation may start.

It has come to know that Nirav Modi's wife is a US citizen, who left the country in the first week of January with brother Nishal Modi to a Belgian citizen, and Mama Mehul Choksi. A few weeks later, the country's largest banking scam came out. All of them are accused in the CBI FIR lodged in this case.

According to officials, Choksi was recently seen in Antigua where he has taken citizenship. Neerav Modi and Choksi, referring to business and health reasons, refused to return to India to join the investigation.
