NEW DELHI: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has been conferred with 'Z plus' security cover by the Union home ministry, due to the most recent threat observation.  This has been because of his convoy was attacked in the Nandar village of Buxar district on January 12.

The Chief Minister's procession was attacked and pelted with stones by a group of villagers when he was returning after inaugurating his Vikas Smaiksha Yatra.

 The MHA analysis intelligence inputs which are bestowed to VVIPs before giving that or moving back such security cover.

With the ministry's pronouncement which came at a personal security analysis meeting conducted lately, “CM Kumar security safeguard will be advanced from 'Z', a home ministry source told Newstracklive. The Bihar chief minister before now has an accumulation layer of gun-toting state police commandos for his shield.

Kumar bestowed with the highest category of 'Z plus' protection is protected round the clock by at least 40 police workforce drawn from paramilitary forces, such as the National Security guard, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo Tibetan Border Police Force and Central Industrial Security Force.
