No-confidence motion: Why BJP still not worried -Here are 5 Key points

New Delhi: After 15 years, the stage is all set to argue a motion of no-confidence on Friday in Lok Sabha against the ruling BJP, who is putting every possible effort to make the opposition regret on its choice.

Here are 5 Key points -

1. The NDA in its kitty has about 312 members in the 533-member house. However, the majority mark, stands at 267 because 11 seats are empty.

2. The grand old party Congress and the other parties that back the no-trust motion have about 152 seats.

3. With 272 MPs, BJP is well past the halfway mark. Moreover, it is highly doubtful that its previous supporter Shiv Sena will vote with the opposition and smash positions when Modi-ledd government had clear numbers on the of the house.

4. 6 members from Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)-led by Ram Vilas Paswan and 4 from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) further strengthen NDAs chances.

 5. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswamy stated his party (AIADMK),will not vote for the motion since the issue pertains to the demands made by a particular state. It has 37 MPs.

 Worth mention here N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which ended its alliance with BJP on the issue of granting special status to Andhra Pradesh, will move the no-confidence motion against the Modi government.
