Scientists have developed a very fast and highly sensitive fingerprint probe, which can be found within a few seconds to see if anyone has used cocaine or not. In the UK, many researchers from the University of Surrey developed this technique, which could take cocaine samples, even after the person who used his hands was able to identify the cocaine.

The method can potentially be applied to a variety of substances. The researchers plan to make a business case for the technique as a safe, rapid and highly accurate method of running a variety of drug tests in the real world.

Cetia Costa, a researcher at the University of Surrey, said, "Our results show that this technique is effective 99% effective in detecting the use of cocaine in patients." The team of Ketia used chromatography paper to take fingerprint samples under the technique. This paper is a part of spray mass spectrometry.

Researchers took fingerprints from a large group of drug users using a group of patients who took treatment in drug rehabilitation centers. All the participants had to wash their hands before the investigation and then sampling on the chromatography paper was collected. This study was published in the Clinical Chemistry Magazine.
