Veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir took decision to bid adieu to all forms of the game on Tuesday evening. He announced his retirement in an emotional video. Compromising with the last couple of years and stretching his career by grueling the body even more, the time for him to call it leaves has come. As we all know that Gambhir had some very fine seasons with Indian Premier League outfit Kolkata Knight Riders so he got a special message from franchise co-owner Shah Rukh Khan as the retirement news broke the internet.

“Gautam Gambhir Thank u for the love & leadership my Captain.U r a special man and may Allah always keep & happy…& u should smile a bit more”, SRK tweeted.

He joined KKR in 2011. Gambhir famously led the team and under his leadership the team won two IPL titles – in 2012 and 2014 .

He ended as the tournament's highest run-scorer in a total of three seasons before joining his home side Delhi Daredevils in 2018. He spent the majority of his IPL career with the Knight Riders, Gambhir currently is 4th in the list of top-scoring batsmen in the well liked tournament with 4217 runs in 152 matches.
