Superstar Rajinikanth is worshiped as God in South India. His real name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. Resides in heart of many 'Rajinikanth' has made crores of fans by acting hard in Tamil and Hindi films. Today is his 67th birthday and the actor was born in 12th Dec 150. The 60 year old actor was awarded with Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India in 2000. Rajinikanth worked from carpenter to coolie to help the family.

Meanwhile, his interest remained towards the cinema. He often used to participate in school play. After completing his schooling, Rajinikanth started working as a bus conductor in the Bangalore Transport Service.

After that, he joined the Madras Film Institute in the year 1973. There he met the film director. Balchandra. Though Balchandra was not particularly impressed at that time with him.In the year 1975, Rajinikanth and K. Balchandra met again. Then Balchandra offered him a small roll. Rajinikanth got his first breakthrough with 'Bhairavi'. He was in the lead role in this film.

After this, the journey of Rajinikanth caught up in speed and he acted in one film more than one. His acting is so popular in South India that he is worshiped as God.
