News Trackl Lve presents highlight of the 90th Annual academy award. The Oscars award took place on Sunday, March 4, kicking off at 9.00pm US time. They were held at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood and Highland Centre in Hollywood, California. The Academy Awards is an annual ceremony hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The host Jimmy Kimmel delivered some truly scathing jokes at the expense of Hollywood and its most powerful creeps. The reckoning that followed the Weinstein allegations, Kimmel acknowledged, was “long overdue. We can’t let bad behavior slide anymore. The world is watching us, and we need to set an example.” he added, if they can help fix harassment in Hollywood.

Coco’s 'Remember Me' wins best original song

Hollywood animated movie "Remember Me," from film "Coco," won the Oscar for best original song. It was performed live onstage.

Shape of Water- Best film

French composer Alexandre Desplat, pictured, won the Oscar for best original score for his work in Guillermo del Toro's "The Shape Of Water." Desplat previously won the same award at this year's Golden Globe Awards and won the Oscar in this same category in 2015 for his work on "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

'Get Out' wins best original screenplay

Jordan Peele is the first African-American writer to win in the category and also was nominated for best director. "Get Out" also was nominated in the best picture category.

'Call Me by Your Name' wins best adapted screenplay

"Call Me by Your Name," adapted from the novel by André Aciman, won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay.

'The Silent Child' wins best live action short film

British actor and director Chris Overton and British actress Rachel Shenton won the Oscar for best live action short film, for "The Silent Child."

 

'Icarus' wins for best documentary

"Icarus" beat out "Strong Island," a film directed by Long Islander Yance Ford about the the 1992 murder of William Ford and its aftermath on Long Island, which was nominated in the same category.
