Lucknow: On Sunday night, Agra woman strangulates husband to death in frustration over prolonged domestic abuse. The incident happened in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district. According to a source report, the victim was identified as 45-year-old Mayaram, whose body has been sent for an autopsy. The police have arrested the accused wife, named Basan Devi and a complaint has been registered against her. Basan has been charged with Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

Here it is to be noted that Saleem Khan, station house officer of Makhanpur told that the deceased was an alcoholic who would often assault his wife both physically and mentally. Reportedly, on Sunday, the deceased came home in an intoxicated state and he immediately engaged in a heated argument with his wife. Khan added, he demanded more money for liquor but when she rejected, he pulled out a rope to lash whips on her in front of their minor daughter.

The police added, at the time of the incident their daughter was pushed out of the house and when she returned she saw her father lying in an unconscious state. Meanwhile, he was immediately rushed to hospital but he was declared brought dead by the authorities. However, the police have registered the case and the accused was arrested. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
