President of India Shri Ramnath Kovind paid floral tributes to Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, on his birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking to his twitter handle remembered Wings of Fire  as saying, “An exceptional teacher, a wonderful motivator, an outstanding scientist and a great President, Dr. Kalam lives in the hearts and minds of every Indian. Remembering him on his Jayanti”.

Rajyavardhan Rathore recalled his scientific visionary and tweeted, “A scientist, a visionary, a leader - Dr APJ #AbdulKalam was all this & much more. As the Missile Man of India, he ignited a thousand minds & gave India its Wings of Fire. As President, he epitomized selfless service, humility & wisdom. Humble tributes on his birth anniversary!”.

 

Vice President Of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu tweeted, “My submissive in his virtuous memory on the birth anniversary of the famous scientist, inspirational writer, Bharat Ratna, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India. You have shown the way that science can be used for both strategic strength and peaceful progress”.

Or those who don’t know Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He was an Indian scientist who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Born on  15 October 1931, and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.He studied physics and aerospace engineering. He died on 27 July 2015, Shillong. He was conferred with prominent Awards Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.
