The former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman and space scientist UR Rao after suffering from heart ailments passed away.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his demise took to Twitter and expressed his condolences.
PM Modi said "Saddened by the demise of renowned scientist, Professor UR Rao. His remarkable contribution to India's space programme will never be forgotten,"
At the age of 85, the Padma Vibhushan award winner Professor Rao passed away.
