The Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in the morning met with the State Counsellor of Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi, in Nay Pyi Taw.
Where at a joint press statement PM Modi said that" India is with Myanmar over the issue of violence held in Rakhine state which has led to the loss of innocent lives."
"We want all stake holders to work towards preserving Myanmar's unity and territorial integrity," he added.
Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter and expressed his happiness: "Presented Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw a reproduction of a 1841 map of a stretch of the River Salween."
"Also presented President Htin Kyaw a sculpture of Bodhi tree."
Before heading for Myanmar, Prime Minister Modi visited China to attend the ninth BRICS Summit, wherein he held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
