India- Nepal hold talks to continue the long-standing ties

PM Narendra Modi warmly welcomed Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli today at Hyderabad House for delegation level talks for continuing the long-standing tradition of high-level visits.

The dialogue between PM Narendra Modi and visiting Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli had a fruitful discussion to expand bilateral ties in all areas, especially in developmental cooperation, trade & investment, agriculture, energy, connectivity & people-to-people contacts.

 Both leaders strengthened the special and people-centric partnership based on historical and cultural context.

 Early this morning President Kovind received Prime Minister Oli at Rashtrapati Bhavan and praised his contribution to India-Nepal partnership.

In addition, PM Oli on his first State visit since his election was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and President Kovind.

In his address, President said, “India’s abiding interest is in the stability and economic prosperity of Nepal. India stands ready to expand cooperation with Nepal as per Nepal’s priorities “.

“No other countries in the world have the bonds of friendship and cooperation that exist between India and Nepal. Regular exchanges of visits at the highest political level demonstrate the priority that we attach to our special partnership “he added.

Both premiers of India and Nepal inaugurated the Birgunj Integrated Check Post through remote control from New Delhi today. This checkpoint of Birgunj based in Nepal's Parsa district will be equipped with modern equipment. On this check post, customs, cold storage and banking services will be available in one place.
