PM Modi arrives in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan to attend International Women's Day event

 Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on International Women's Day on Thursday is being telecasted live across all schools in Rajasthan, the Vasundhara Raje-government has decreed.

The prime minister arrived here to address in an event on 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' programme in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district.

Rajasthan Patrika reported that students of Class VI to XI have been directed to effectively attend the live screening of the programme, adding that school authorities from corner to corner of the state have been asked to report the number of students who sat to watch the live telecast.

According to DNA, Class XII students have been excluded because of the ongoing Secondary and Senior Secondary Board examinations in the state. The report added that schools in rural areas that lack electricity has arranged for radio sets.

 PM Modi will announce the expansion of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' programme from the existing 161 to 640 districts all over the country, on the occasion of International Women's Day 2018. Thursday will also mark the third anniversary of the flagship programme.
