PM-in-waiting Imran Khan set to appoint renowned economist as advisor

Islamabad (Pakistan), Aug 13 (NT): The largest party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has said that it is set to appoint prominent economist Abdul Razzaq Dawood as an advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister-designate Imran Khan.

The PTI issued a press release saying that Razzaq would lend his wisdom to the PTI chief on a number of issues including investment, economy, trade, and related issues, according to Geo News.

Asad Umar who the party's expected nominee for the finance minister of the nation, had earlier made a statement as saying that the PTI is unlikely to privatize Pakistan's loss-making state companies such as Pakistan International Airlines Corp (PIA) and Pak Steels.

The state-owned firms will be moved into a wealth fund in order to get rid of them from political meddling and that there will be no relief for people in the first 100 days of the new administration, Umar further said.

Worth mention here Prime Minister-in-waiting Imran Khan now will take oath at the President House in Islamabad on August 18. Earlier He was slated to swear in as PM on August 11. The Cricketer turned Politician also has invited the former Indian cricketer Suni Gwaskar for his swear in Ceremony but Sunil refused to go and attend the event. (NT)
