The harm is done for sure.Padmavat has got a new release date on January 25. The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rattan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. And we don't need to tell you why the movie was in news.

Padmavati was in the eye of the disputation ever since the director announced his intention to make the movie on the fiction of the legendary queen. The real trouble began when he declared that real-life couple Deepika and Ranveer would be playing Padmavati and Khilji respectively. The periphery Rajput groups protested to this, especially a rumour began to float in that there is a love scene between them in the movie. The makers denied this, but that hadn't stopped the fringe groups to attack the sets and later, held enough protests to give headaches to the media, the government and the makers.

Akshay Kumar's Pad Man: While Sidharth Malhotra's Aiyaary might have pushed ahead to release on February 9, Pad Man is still coming out on the same date. Akshay Kumar is having a golden time at the box office and Pad Man's trailers have been appreciated by all for its theme. There is also the fact that the movie is made on a small budget which is not the case with Padmavat. Padmavat certainly needed a solo weekend to get a great start at the box office and enjoy the prolonged weekend. But that's not going to happen now.
