A parliamentary committee has summoned director of 'Padmavati' Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the protest against the film exhibition across the country. The committee wants to hear their views on the controversy related to the film.

Parliamentary panel chairman Anurag Thakur has said that the committee has invited Sanjay Leela Bhansali, director of Padmavati to know his views about the film.

Thakur said that the committee has called Bhansali to know the idea. The meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held on Thursday. The committee has also called the officers of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the censor board to discuss the issue.

However the officials said that Bhansali has not confirmed the present. Due to fierce opposition in many states, the performance of the film on December 1 has been postponed. The controversy over this movie has gone deeper. There are allegations that historical facts have been tampered with in this.

"Since objections against "Padmavati"are being raised from several quarters, its filmmaker should clarify his stand. As long as the controversy over the film does not subside, the film will not be released in Bihar," Mr Kumar said. The Supreme Court on Tuesday turned down yet another appeal to ban "Padmavati" and reprimanded the Chief Ministers and others who have spoken out against the film, saying, "those holding public offices should not comment on such issues."
