A Pakistani military chopper was seen along the Line of Control within 300 meters in the region occupied by Pakistan in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

However, there was no hostile act or firing during the event but it was a violation of the ceasefire agreement which prohibits any rotary wing aircraft into one-kilometer boundary from LoC and fixed-wing aircraft are not allowed to come within a boundary of ten kilometers from the LoC.

The chopper flew back to Pakistan soon after. This was not a violation of airspace however it did violate the norms set by both the nations after the war, an official informed the press.

The incident took place in the morning between 9:30 AM-10 AM on Wednesday. “Such violations are not uncommon and often happen due to human error,” said a senior officer who has been serving in the region for years.

This has been the fourth instance on the consecutive fourth day of unprovoked activity from Pakistan. Since Sunday, Pakistan has been opening unprovoked fire on Indian Army’s posts attempting to facilitate infiltration of terrorists into the Indian side. A BSF soldier succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a Pakistani sniper on Tuesday.
