Story line: Border fame JP Dutta’s Paltan is based on true events at the actual line of control between India and China at Nathu La pass . This is a intentionally important corridor between India and Tibet. It is the story is all about the courageous and audacious brave hearts from Indian Army’s Rajput battalion, who put up a spirited guard to the nation against their bad-tempered Chinese counterpart in 1965.

Film’s tale begins soon after the Indo-Sino war of 1962. Entertainingly, that war is referred to as combat between both nations, but what follows are more tiff. This time JP Dutta’s soldiers  save Sikkim from the Chinese army who is disloyally inching toward the Indian side.

Director JP Dutta puts together a team of well-groomed young and experienced actors to represent real characters from this imperative yet much lesser known piece of information that buried in the history.

Arjun Rampal plays Lt Col. Rai Singh while Sonu Sood as Major Bishen Singh .Both lead as top ranking officers in the film. The performances of duo are awesome. The young talents Harshvardhan Rane stands out as a zealous soldier while Gurmeet Singh Choudhary goes overboard, particularly with a tone of voice that move back and forth between Jatt Haryanvi and Rajasthani. On the other hand  Luv Sinha as the friendly Attar Singh gives his positive best while Siddhant Kapoor is without doubt elapsed.

The shout ‘Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai’ after every face-off does not look alarming enough to be taken seriously.

At last Paltan manages to open some of the damage in its concluding moments that are beyond doubt action packed. Director JP Dutta fires all his grenades in an exciting climax for a sour sweet win.
