"Pancake diplomacy" , President Xi accepts cooking challenge given by Russian President Vladimir Putin

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin along with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping donning a navy blue kitchen aprons took a little break from their hectic schedule and were spotted tossing pancakes together on the sidelines of a global forum in Russia.

With the special gesture President Putin invited President Xi for a cooking challenge and the two leaders were seen pouring batter and flipping Russian pancakes. This Russian pancakes is known as `bini`.

The Chinese President`s perfectly-shaped pancakes were appreciated by Putin and he called it "very neat".

Worth mention here Xi is leading a delegation of near 1,000 Chinese business people and officials to the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia`s Far East city of Vladivostok. The conference, conceived by Putin, is focused at heartening foreign investment, The New York Post reported.

After holding discussions, the Russian leader called for Xi to show off his cooking skills at the Sea of Japan harbor, where the two world leaders prepared the pancakes, took pleasure them with caviar and a shot of vodka.

On a related note this was not the first time when Putin and Xi were occupied in "pancake diplomacy," as earlier in June, Putin prepared a Chinese pancake, which Xi later tasted ahead of visit to China.
