Jakarta [Indonesia], Oct 08 (NT): India started off their campaign at the ongoing third edition of the Para Asian Games with full of enthusiasm and zeal by clinching five medals, including two silver and three bronze, on the very first day of the tournament. In an opening day while Farman Basha grabbed a silver medal in the Men's 49 kg Power lifting event, the swimmer Devanshi Satijawon finished second on the podium in the Women's 100m Butterfly in S-10 category.

On the other hand The Indian men's badminton team bagged the country's first medal in the ongoing tournament. They settled for silver after a narrow 1-2 defeat at the hands of Malaysia in the semi-final of the event. Take a look others medal winning performers –

-Indian athlete Paramjeet Kumar clinched a bronze in the Men's 49 kg Powerlifting event.

- swimmer Suyash Jadhav settled for the third spot in the Men's 200m Individual Medley in the SM-7 category.

The 2018 Para Asian Games is slated to end on October 13. The 2018 Asian Para Games, also known as the 3rd Asian Para Games. It is a multi-sport event that is currently taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event parallels the 2018 Asian Games and is held for Asian athletes with disability.
