The story of the movie revolves around the Indian history, where Ashwath Raina (John Abraham) is an IAS officer in the year 1995. The IAS officer suggests India to conduct its own set of nuclear tests. His proposal came as yo stay ahead in the nuclear race with China and Pakistan. While after facing the failure initially under the pressure from America, IAS Raina gets a second chance in 1998 under the new reign of then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Acting:
The whole film is lead by John Abraham himself. He is said to be a literal captain of the mission and also the movie. Whereas Diana Penty alongside is looking good too. While Anuja Sathe who is playing the role of John's wife and Boman Irani as a Secretary to the Indian PM brings in the right measures of drama and a small dose of comedy.

Critical review:
'Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran' according to the critics, lacks in detail and authenticity. It sure makes up the emotional mood ad a sense of national pride. The portrayal of the movie is not explosive but it does have the dramatic moment. It successes to grab the attention of the viewers. Thrills, suspense, drama, a little bit of humour, as well as a solid explanation on India’s soldiers, this movie, mostly has all the facilities to satisfy even a perceptive audience.
