A survey of 18,000 people has revealed that nearly 62 percent of the people have got a great deal of difference in the online review and the product they bought. A survey conducted by Citizen Engagement Platform LocalSurkles reveals that many customers have pointed out that most of the reviews written on e-commerce sites have been faked or deliberately inserted.
What does surveys say?
When asked if the customer relies on a review posted on e-commerce sites? 56 percent of the participants gave no answer to this. While 31 percent said yes. Some participants said that e-commerce sites do not publish poor reviews of any product written by consumers.
In another survey, customers were asked whether e-commerce sites have denied or deleted them from publishing low ratings given to any product? 34 percent said that yes it has happened to them, while 30 percent said that it has not happened.
In another question, the participants were asked whether they rely on the ratings given to the products on e-commerce sites? Only 22 percent said that they trust him, while 13 percent did not respond to this question.
