New Delhi. For the past two weeks, prices of petrol and diesel have been touching historic records. On Tuesday, there has been a huge surge in petrol diesel prices for the sixth consecutive day.

Petrol prices have risen from 10 paise per litre to 82.16 a litre in the national capital Delhi today, while the diesel also hiked at 73.87 rupees per litre with heavy bounce. But the highest increase in petrol prices has been registered in the country's financial capital, Mumbai, where petrol price has gone up by 10 paise per litre to Rs 89.54 per litre and diesel will increase by 9 paise to Rs 78.42 per litre. Significantly, the price of petrol and diesel in the country has been increasing steadily for the last two weeks, and there is a lot of resentment in the people of the nation. A few days back the protest against these prices was done by the Congress Party in a countrywide bandh agitation. Economic experts have warned that prices of petrol and diesel may go up further in the country. In fact, there is a possibility of an increase in prices due to a significant reduction in the production of oil in Gulf countries.
