New Delhi [India], July 9 (NT): After receiving serious condemnation Petrol and diesel prices have yet again witnessed a historic hike for the fifth consecutive day.
According to data provided by the Indian Oil Corporation, Delhities are getting Petrol in at Rs.76.36 per litre, as against Rs.76.13 on Sunday, while diesel is being brought at Rs.68.07 per litre, as against Rs. 67.86 on the previous day.
In B-town bastion Mumbai, petrol prices have been increased from Rs. 83.52 on Sunday, to Rs. 83.75 per litre on Monday, and diesel prices from Rs.72 to Rs. 72.23 per litre.
In addition petrol is being sold in Chennai at Rs.79.25 per litre, which is increased from Rs.79.01 on Sunday. Here diesel prices at Rs. 71.85 per litre.
On the other hand in Kolkata petrol price is at Rs. 82.56 per litre while diesel price at Rs.70.62 per litre in.
In previous month, members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), agreed to mutually hike oil production, which was expected to be about one million barrels a day.
The pact, which came after a week of stressed discussion, was reportedly focused at easing fears of a international supply crisis. (NT)
