Political Dignitaries greet the nation on Milad-un-Nabi

New Delhi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, addressing that the teachings of Prophet Mohammad will keep on to extend the message of peace among all communities.

“My greetings to Muslim brethren on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi… His life and preachings will continue to inspire all to spread peace and happiness,” Naidu tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

The Prime Minister shared his greetings on Twitor handle, "Greetings on Id-E-Milad. May the teachings of Prophet Mohammad further the spirit of harmony in our society?"

President Kovind greeted the Muslim community all across the glob.

"On the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the Prophet's birthday, good wishes to all fellow citizens, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters in India and abroad,"  President Kovind said in a tweet.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi greeted nation on Mawlid focusing on peace, prosperity and happiness,

"The teachings of the Holy Prophet continue to guide mankind on the path of equality, brotherhood and compassion," she tweeted

"May the festival of Milad-un-Nabi bring peace, prosperity and happiness to all."

Milad-un-Nabi or Mawlid marks the birthday of Prophet Mohammad and is observed in the third month as per the Islamic calendar.

Milad-un-Nabi is celebrated in Rabi'al-awwal, the third month in the religious calendar.

 

According to on the lunar calendar, the date of Milad-un-Nabi varies across the globe.

In some parts of India, Karnataka, and Telangana, the festival did not kick off until Saturday because the moon was not spectacle until later.
