Prabhu Deva the dancing legend of Tollywood as well as Bollywood industry. The director who says he is an ardent fan of late iconic actor MGR revealed he follows the latter’s style. “Those days MGR made style statements with his baggy pants and short sleeved shirts. I love his dressing sense. After watching the song Naan Aanayittaal from Enga Veetu Pillai, I started wearing baggy pants,” he remarked at the audio launch of Kizhakku Africavil Raju, the animated film which has MGR as the lead hero and is a sequel to his 1973 blockbuster hit Ulagam Suttrum Vaaliban. The movie was also directed and produced by MGR. Producer Isari Ganesh is bankrolling KAR. Imman does the musical score for Vairamuthu’s lyrics.

Prabhu Deva sharing his memories said in an interaction, “I still remember the days when we were in Mylapore when my mom used to take me to MGR’s movies in Kamadhenu theatre every week.

The actor turned director also said that, During my childhood, I would see him passing in his car through our road and get mesmerized My father has choreographed 5 films for him and it’s a real big honour for our family.”

Many actors and leading ladies who had shared screen space with MGR including Saroja Devi, Latha, Sakuntala, Kutty Padmini, Sachu recalled their memories with the actor-politician.
